Keep It Green

Michelin car care begins with environmental responsibility.

When Michelin Wheel & Tire Care products were being developed, engineers researched many of the car care products already on the market. This included reading their labels which can be quite revealing. Some cleaners include acid or alkaline ingredients, and certain appearance products for tires use petroleum distillates that actually dry out and prematurely age rubber and plastic surfaces.

As a result, it was resolved that no harsh or harmful ingredients would be used in the Michelin products. They would be formulated with safety and sustainability in mind. This would include biodegradable chemistries, recyclable packaging and ingredients that would be kind to vehicle surfaces, people and the environment.

Using patented polymer technology, three Michelin car care products were created that provide consumers with a safe, effective way to maintain the appearance of vehicle tires and wheels. At a time when humanity’s impact on the natural world is a vital issue, these “Earth Minded” products give vehicle owners another way to help keep it green.
